Antioxidant-rich smoothie bowl recipe

A little mood boosting smoothie bowl that tastes so good!

This simple combination of frozen blueberries, macadamia nuts and coconut cream is yummy one.

Blueberries are rich in anthocyanin, a flavonoid that gives them the dark blue pigment. Flavonoid rich foods such as blueberries have been shown to have a measurable effect on positive mood.

I add macadamia nuts to the smoothie bowl for their protein and essential fatty acid content, this supports healthy brain function. The prebiotic fibre in the nuts acts as food for the microflora in your gut. This in turn helps support production of your feel good neurotransmitter serotonin (approximately 80%) is produced in the gut.

Welcome to the Vitality Junction blog

Vitality Junction has been having discussions about all things collaborative the past few months. We have such a diverse range of therapies, therapists, services, products, skill sets, and knowledge - we have been trying to figure out a way to connect to our local and existing community to share our diversity and our passion, so that your health can benefit.

Thing is, we don’t want this to lack foundation or intention. In fact we have been meeting and talking regularly about how we can unify our many therapists, work collaboratively, and get great information out there that can help people. Really help people.

So this blog is going to be a weekly feature that is being driven by health professionals, that have great information to share. It is going to be relevant, up to date, courageous and informative in its sharing of health-driven snippets of clinical advice, clinical observation and evidence-informed practice.

We have a collective knowledge of chiropractic, supplements, herbal medicine, nutrition, nutritional medicine, acupuncture, yoga, yoga therapy, meditation, and Bowen therapy that can help you on your health journey.

Our contributors are our practitioners and health professionals, all specialising in their area. Every week there will be a new topic and feature on health that will keep you informed and inspired.

If something catches your eye and you want to connect, please come into the store or give us a call on 49691102
