A study(1) reported in the SMH(2) found that for each 25nmol/L increase in VitD reduced the incidence of Type2 diabetes by 25%, saying that 7.4% (~1.5 million) adult Australians have it. Up to 70% of us are low in VitD, according to an earlier SMH report(3). With the road toll at ~ 1600, perhaps a small fraction of the Billions spent on road safety would be better spent on giving us a Vitamin D supplement.
