Chiropractic

What Is Chiropractic?

The World Health Organisation defines chiropractic as:

A health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuro-musculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health. There is an emphasis on manual techniques, including joint adjustment and/or manipulation with a particular focus on subluxations.”

The Nervous system controls the functions of every tissue, organ and system in the body.

Chiropractors focus on understanding the function of the spine and nervous system.

Who can come to the Chiropractor?

Chiropractic is suitable for Everyone! Newborns, kids and the mature age.

We use a wide range of techniques. They are very gentle techniques that are adapted specifically for that person’s age, size and individual’s body.

Parents and children are always very welcome to ask questions and any concerns will be addressed.

Chiropractic Training

Chiropractic training is 5 years full time university education.

Each year we do post graduate courses and seminars to maintain our standards and educational requirements

Chiropractors are registered through the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

While chiropractic can help people with back pain, neck pain and headaches, our focus is to help you be as healthy and vibrant as you can be and have VITALITY in your life!

Vitality Junction Chiropractic’s Approach

Sacro-Occipital Technique

Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) is a specialised, comprehensive, gentle and innovative technique of Chiropractic founded in 1925 by Dr De Jarnette, it is so named because of the relationship between the sacrum (base of the spine) and the occiput (base of the skull).

The pelvis forms the foundational support of the human skeleton. It supports the upper body right up to the skull, and enables us to transfer our weight to our legs. The spine holds our body upright, supports all of our organs and provides anchor points for our muscles. It also protects our delicate nervous system. The nervous system controls our body, and can only function normally when our structures are balanced and our pelvis is stable. This is what SOT aims to achieve.

Instrument-assisted adjusting.

Impulse adjusting instrument and Arthrostim instrument uses a microprocessor controlled, hand held instrument to give adjustments. These instruments can give a short series of inputs which aim to restore movement to your spine.
